Hi Everyone: Molly sent me an email, suggesting I was AWOL, so the time has come for me to throw in my 2 cents about DR's contribution. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember anyone doing a remake of My Girl, and being successful. To me, that says every singer knows DR is untouchable. I've always thought that if the Temptations wore the crown of Motown's Finest, that the crown fit best on top of David's head, no question about it in my mind. Andy, that's true! I've heard different remakes of My Girl & none can hold a candle to the original. I wish I could find the article but paraphrasing what he said, I recall David saying that certain parts of the song, he just improvised. He said he didn't even think about what he singing, he just got caught up in the emotion of the song. Pure genius!

Absolutely...many have covered My Girl, but nobody does it as good or better than DR. I found a list of people who covered the song and I don't see how any of them even made an attempt! Al Green Rufus Thomas Neville Brothers Michael Jackson Eddie Floyd Rashan Roland Kirk Billy Preston Walter Beasley Mamas and Papas Frank Sinatra Royal PhilharmonicSymphony Rufus Thomas should have had his union card revoked! ;D

Hi Molly: I ran into the big O about 20 years ago. A most unimpressive guy. No warmth, no style, no personality.

Hello coomon you are definitely right there will never be another David but did you hear about a guy named Garfield Ruffin who sings with the Delfonics and also sings David 's songs in the shows who some fans say he's as close as you can get to seeing david in terms of resemblance and vocal style?

Hey Abe. I have heard Garfield and he is Good. But "close as you can get to David" I don't agree.

Hey ABE! Yes, I've heard about Garfield but never heard him sing. I don't think he is related to any of David's kin & definitely not his brother. But I have read a few musical reviews about this guy & it all has been favorable.
