Jody, I will deal with you first. This is all I am going to say on this subject...it's a done deal.
Your Amos and Andy statement was disrespectful, simply because you don't understand Black people...just accept us and let us be who we are. Amos and Andy was buffoonish; speaking Ebonics is a is something we do. You should first have command of the English. language. Mr Cosby was speaking of those people who could speak a grammatically sentence if it was programmed into their heads. Not much has changed since Amos and Andy. In the 70's, it was Good Times and The Jeffersons. In the 80's it was What's Happening. In the 90's you have Martin and just about every other Black sitcom. Dean Valentine, one of the overseers at Fox does not understand the type of comedy we like...all he is interested in is the ratings. Ebonics started in the cotton fields. Blacks were maimed and killed for simply wanting to hold on to their culture...something that every other race does without a fuss. Kunta lost a foot cause he didn't want to be called some darn Toby! D. Whiteman wanted Blacks to speak English so he could understand them making plans to get away. But that is what inspired them to develop a ebonics. They spoke English and, right up under Massa's nose and he still didn't know what they were talking about. We were stripped of our land, culture, and everything else. Our grandmothers and great grandmothers did not speak the language of their homeland. The only language they knew was 'cotton field' english. This is how Ebonics was born...basically it is not intended for every one to understand. Don't feel bad, because Black men talk differently to each other than they do to us females. Sometimes, I have to shake my head on this one. I don't let it bother me...I consider it a man thing. I am not trying to get bent out of shape over it.

Majority of these women are highly education and have interesting careers. But, you can bet your last money, when they report to work on Monday...all that is tucked away. My grandma used to always say, "It's better to have it and not use it, than want it and not have it!
I have been observing your behavior lately, and you have made some pretty 'crass' statements also. It's only after you feel you are losing ground, you want me to delete the posts. I am very busy and I don't have time to go thru all the posts deleting them. I've asked each of you to ignore the other, but no one is listening to me. Things are going to be much different around here now...after today certain things will not be tolerated aroun here. If you can't conform, maybe you should leave, because afterall, you are the one with all the complaints. If I ever see any private emails or messages, posted on this board, Jody you will be banned...since I think you must be pushing me to do.
I try to give everyone the respect we all deserve; but sometimes people will really try you. If I see your name attatched to anymore disruptive posts...you will most definitely be banned...there will be no further discussion of any type. That's final!
Bees, I am not attacking you or anyone else for that matter. Read the Jacket thread and see who is attacking whom... I was only going on what you and Common both told me a long time ago. That you and she were able to see who was posting and if they were posting under different monikers. If it changed, I am sorry. I LOVE IT when it is peaceful!!! guess I am a little burnt out on being told I am not who I say I am. I also do not get the Amos and Andy bantering that goes back and forth constantly...If it is all in fun, have at it. To me it is degrading to the race..."Your man" has a difinate word for it. I guess what I am trying to say, is that it began as such a classy place for people to come and learn about David. Common and you were knowledgable about David and Motown in general. I still think it is a wonderful board when the subject does not stear into crass innuendoes. The belittling of people departs from the class it once enveloped. I apologize if I appear to be attacking you. I swear I am not. You, yourself told me what is alive and well at the Palace. Those were not my words, but, appropriate...I am the same person, by the way, that you and Common and certain others welcomed with open arms a few years back. Even calling me at home and talking via 3 way at times. I respect YOU highly!!!
