;D Hi ya'll, I am a huge fan. I have been reading your board for a bit. I am not understanding all about some of the things I am reading, not sure I want to. Can someone tell me how and where to get sheet music of the songs David wrote. (where the best place to start is).

Hmmmm, I was looking for some information from people I thought knew a lot about this man. I have just started listening to his old music again and am intrigued with all the recent happenings with the movie and all. I guess I am in the wrong place.

Thanks for the reply. I am just learning which ones he wrote. I am trying to make a list and want to get the sheetmusic and cd's to put up for mementos. I met a lady while I was on vacation this summer that knew so much about him, I only got her first name. But she just peaked my interest and I have been collecting ever since

You are in the wrong place if you are looking for sheet music written by David Ruffin. To my knowledge David didn't write the songs he sang. People had once said that he wrote Statue Of A Fool. However that has never been confirmed. The people on this board do know a great deal about this artist, but I am sure that you were not trying to imply otherwise based on the one question you asked.

I thought he wrote that at the age of 18?

Well thank you for clearing up some things for me. I thought I had read somewhere that he had written that one song but I was trying to find out if there were others. I guess there is not. There seems to be quite an undercurrent of hositility on this message board.....should I move on to something else about David Ruffin? If this is a board just for certain people, I do not want into something that is negative. I just want to learn more about David Ruffin. THis was the first one that popped up when I typed in his name on the interenet.

Hello Blossom: We are not all of one mind here; nor should we be. You will find all of the emotions known to humankind on this board. For myself, I would like you to stay awhile, observe, and post if you want. Please do not be turned off by recent quarrels. There is more love here than meets the casual eye. AJA

Hi Molly: Yes, I'm pretty sure I've heard David say that, perhaps live or on tape. If it's on tape I'll eventually find it and let you know all I learn. David wasn't the only one who recorded it. A country singer sang it, too. I heard it years ago on the radio down here in Miami. Dancing my way off the board right now, I remain, VTY, AJA

Hello Blossom: I danced back on after doing a google search and found that David Ruffin is credited with the song. His skill was not being a song writer. His skill was in singing ang performing at a level rarely seen. I say it all the time, David Ruffin was the greatest entertainer I have ever seen, and I have seen them all.

Don't register & post in a place where you feel uncomfortable. That simple. Anyone is welcomed here as long as you're not here to disrupt, s**tstart/stir, & agitate anyone here. It is interesting that you only zeroed on the threads where there is particular drama going on, which is only 2-3 out of 50+ threads. Please stop the dramatics. If you want to post here, be our guest. We are only too happy to have you & help you in any way we can. But all those other comments are not necessary & it is coming across as if you are deliberately trying to start drama. Take it easy & have a nice Sunday.

COMMON, I think it says "General" on the threads and anything could be posted. Dont be so paranoid. Common, they are called "hormones". Have some. It should say "I want to intimidate and show my ignorance". I dont think you are interested in talking about David Ruffin to people that are interested in his music. Whatever it is that you are talking about on this board sounds like a bitter, old, lonely person. Back off from me, I dont know you and dont want to. I thought maybe I had found a place to discuss a great entertainer. Guess not.
To the rest, I thank the people that were kind enough to reply and give me information about the music. I hope whatever the wounds are here can be healed with the anger thing. Discussion is healthy and good, personal attacks help no one.
