COMMON, I think it says "General" on the threads and anything could be posted. Dont be so paranoid. Common, they are called "hormones". Have some. It should say "I want to intimidate and show my ignorance". I dont think you are interested in talking about David Ruffin to people that are interested in his music. Whatever it is that you are talking about on this board sounds like a bitter, old, lonely person. Back off from me, I dont know you and dont want to. I thought maybe I had found a place to discuss a great entertainer. Guess not. To the rest, I thank the people that were kind enough to reply and give me information about the music. I hope whatever the wounds are here can be healed with the anger thing. Discussion is healthy and good, personal attacks help no one. No, and you don't know me either. You sure sound very angry to me & without cause. But again, thanks for proving my point. Your above post just showed your true intentions. Have a blessed day!

I am not angry, I just dont put up with people that attack me and think that they can speak for or analyze me or my intentions. Like I said paranoid. Good grief! I cant stand bullies or pushy people. I just wanted to know about the music. I dont know who DavidSpeaks is. Who is DavidSpeaks? Does anyone on this board want to talk about David Ruffin's music? It all seems like a jockeying for power and intimidation with Common. I dont take anything off anyone. Dont have to. Are there any other boards anyone knows about that is really about the music and the man and not old women that may or may not have known this man?

Thank you Capricorn Princess. I dont think I will be here long enough to catch a bumpy ride. I am really sorry to get testy with Common but this is just so ungracious. I am a member of other boards that I have been on for a while and try to be kind and patient with new members. I would assume most of us here are over 30 so I would think that there would be some wisdom and temperance here. Most everyone has been kind and helpful, Andy, etc. Thanks again. Good Luck. I think that you are trying to do a good thing here, it is just sour grapes with Common.

Hello again, MB, as I stated earlier, I am new and became interested in Mr. Ruffin a little over a year ago, why sparked your interest in his music? Do you have a favorite song?

Well the movie and then I remember a certain time in my life that I was making a major change and the song I remember when I was drving down the highway,My Girl, came on the radio. It just made me feel so good and I just went on with the changes I was making. After the movie, I just decided I wanted to know more about David Ruffin and the the portrayal of him in the movie. I didnt like it. I dont think he was any worse or better than the rest of them. Just a kid trying to make it. He was good and bad like all of us. On any given day any of us can be bad, some of us, really bad. I dont want to judge him, I just want to know more about the early years of his career. I have read a lot about the early days of Motown and have some strong opinions on that too.

Hello again, MB, as I stated earlier, I am new and became interested in Mr. Ruffin a little over a year ago, why sparked your interest in his music? Do you have a favorite song? I guess my alltime favorite is "Ain't too proud to beg". When Rueben sang it during the American Idol competition this last year, I had a fit.

Hello Board. When I saw MB's post this morning I was going to post. I had things to do so I put it off. I see Common, you beat me again. MB any hostility displayed on the board was certainly not directed at you. I must say I felt your second post was very sarcastic, but trying to give you the benefit of a doubt. I agree that when a person enters a new envioronment they should be welcomed and extended every courtesy possible. However when that person comes out of the gate with an attitude, then those rules of courtesy do not apply. The decision to stay or go is your's and that decision could have been made wthout commentary. It strkes me odd that you would come to a board, and begin to make Ridiculous assertions about people and events that you know nothing about. Actually Common is extremely knowlegable regarding David's music, performances, ect. So I really don't know how you drew the conclusions you did,if in fact you have been 'looking at this board for a while". This board is dedicated to celebrating the legacy of David Ruffin. And to answer your question YES we do talk about David's music here However based on your own observations if you feel we Do Not, then you probably Don't want to waste your time here..

;D Some of the newer stuff I have heard was so rich, he could have been in the ICON realm like Sinatra, Elvis and probably is. I just would have liked to heard him as he got older that what he was when he died. I cant think of a voice from the 60's forward that was as rich as his. Rod Stewart has gone from his original rock into something more mellow but my gosh, how rich his voice is now. There is nothing like a sexy older man. I would have like to have seen DR have that chance.

Oh I read part of that book by that lady that had a son with David Ruffin. Have you read it? What did you think about it? I didnt finish all of it. Some of it was a little weird.
