I have this CD and sometimes, I have mixed feelings about it. I understand about BG's obsession with appealing to mainstream audiences but sometimes, it went too far. When I listen to other acts of the 60s, there is also a far share of 'covering' alot of pop standards, so I'm not saying what BG did was unusual. However, sometimes, the results were not always that good and not everyone is cut out to sing standards. I do think the Tempts did an excellent job on this CD, though. I think this CD only worked because there was talented singers like Eddie, David & Paul who could pull this material off.

Right on, Common. I feel exactly the same way. I do love Eddie's rendition of "Try to Remember" and of course David doing "The Impossible Dream" just rips your heart out.

Rufferino, I loved David's version of 'Ready For Love'. Very Jazzy and it made me wonder what David would have sounded like if he had been given some jazz material or musicians to work with.

Hello everyone,
I am actually listening to this album right now. My favorite songs are: Hello Young Lovers, A Taste of Honey, What Now My Love and That's Life.
I love the title because whenever I do play the LP it sure does put me in a mellow mood . As usual, the harmony on this album is tight. This album only further demonstrates that David, Eddie, Paul, Melvin and Otis could sing anything.
I think the Temps, Marvin Gaye (Hello Broadway, LP) and the Four Tops (4 Tops on Broadway LP) were the best at Motown to cover 'the standards'

Berry Gordy presents the Supremes cover .... The Supremes! ... BG had Motown artist covering everything from broadway to mainstream to showtunes! ... He even had Motown covering Motown ... But I gotta give it to almost every tempt who has stepped to the mike to cover those said songs, The did it, and they did it well ... Not eveyone can make a listenable cover EVERY time ... But Eddie, David, and Paul exceeded in knocking it out of the park ... They shoulda owned motown and BG lol
