Rufferino,
Thanks for the post. I loved Denzel’s comments about meeting David. A few years ago before going on a tour of the Apollo, the audience was shown a documentary about the theater’s rich history. The film included footage of legendary entertainers performing during the Apollo’s heyday. I thought it was such a tribute and so fitting to have video of David and Eddie’s concert with Hall and Oates conclude the documentary. David Ruffin will always be legendary.

Thanks for sharing. I heard those Apollo performances were legendary. I wish someone had some footage of those performances for us to see.

DC,
What was also interesting is that during the actual tour, we were told David and the rest of The Temps supposedly signed their name in a concrete slab at the back entrance of the Apollo Theater. I don’t know whether this is really true or just folklore because the tour guide said the sidewalk was paved many years later. Nevertheless, it was a fascinating piece of potentially new David Ruffin history to hear.
I too wish those legendary Apollo shows were available on video.

I know there's a lot of David Ruffin history out there that we have never heard!! It's time for somebody else to write a book about David. Cheryl? What do you think?

This is nice! I love Denzel. He's my favorite actor, if I had to name just one ;D ;D ;D
