Hello Everyone, For those who have neither read nor heard anything about the Temptations first appearance at the Copa besides what was depicted in the Temptations movie, below is a link to a review by the Telegraph about their August 26, 1967 show. link
linkIf neither of the these links work, then type in 'Temptations Score in New York' in the google search box to get the link to the webpage. Citystars

Hey thanks Citystars. That was very cool to read. I wonder how David broke his hand... Sounds like they were all pretty wiped out after the show, and all the preparation for it.

Thanks for sharing. They obviously killed. This is how I'm almost sure this show was recorded. It's a shame Motown never released it. I'm willing to bet it's another vaulted album. Hopefully Motown/Select will release it soon.
Motown seemed to not put out albums unless they had too for artist. The "Mellow Mood" got the Tempts to the Copa, so they put that out. Since they killed at the Copa, they probably felt it was more profitable to release new material than a Copa album.
The Supremes cut an album of standards that was released on Motown/Select that was vaulted. The Supremes made it to the Copa without that album so Motown shelved it.

Hi Rufferino,
I also wonder how David broke his arm. I know I have seen a picture of him performing with a broken hand in some YouTube video. But, I can't remember the song.
Hi DC,
Motown supposedly has the most unreleased material of any record company. I think there are more videos of the Temps in the vault too. If they exist, maybe one day they will be released.

Citystars I believe it. I bought the Motown Sings Motown Treasures 2 disc set, a few years back. On the inside cover it showed the Motown vault. It literally looked like a small library. Most likely hundreds of unreleased songs. These albums are blank to. The research company has to take the blank tapes and play it to see what's on it. It's something else. I wonder what's taking so long with the video footage? The Definitive Performances dvd sold over a million copies by itself. It shows that the fans are supporting, and there is an audience for it. I love Motown but they make me mad sometimes.

DC,
Those sales numbers are impressive and definitely justify the release of more video. I never knew the Definitive DVD sold that many units.
I too wonder why more concert video has never been released. I really feel there has to be more footage than what we’ve been allowed to see.
I don't understand the reason for having so much material stored away in a vault. What was the point of having people record, if the song was never going to be released? Seems like a waste of time and money.

www.otiswilliams.net/frameset.htmlYeah, definitely. I saw a photo of a pic with Otis getting a plague for 1 million copies sold. I can't find it now. There's definitely a market for it. But that's Motown for you.
