Hello Palace, Below are pictures of a 1976 31' Bluebird Wanderlodge Motor Home that was supposedly at one time owned by David. It is currently being sold on Ebay for $5000.00. The words "Ruffin It" appear above the front window. Does anyone think David used it to travel across country to get to his concerts? DR seemed to be the type of person who enjoyed traveling in style. Citystars

Hey CityStars, If that is really DR's mobile home, that's pretty cool. I remember that Tony Turner, maybe Nelson George, and some others mentioned that David lived in a mobile home when he was "on retreat" at the horse farm. I think it was a period of time after the reunion tour, and he probably didn't have a lot of concerts to do at that point, so I'm thinking he probably didn't use it for touring but it was his home on the horse ranch. I wouldn't mind living out in nature in one of those!

Rufferino,
Thanks for the response because I don't remember reading about David's mobile home in any of the books I have read. I do recollect the stories about the limo, but for some reason my mind draws a blank regarding any mention of the mobile home. I remember reading about him living on a ranch, but I always thought he was living in someone else's house. I must have missed the part were it stated David was actually living in his own dwelling.
I know the ebay description said the mobile home was featured in the Temptations movie, but I don't remember that scene either.
Anyway, I am now curious to know did this mobile home really belong to him.

Citystars, Yes, for sure I've read in a number of places, and probably one of them was Genna's book, that David lived in a mobile dwelling on the horse farm. Sometimes it was referred to as a trailer. Oh I know-- it was one of the other threads on this forum that talked about it, too. Sorry I don't remember which one, but if you look around for the posts from Debbie, she is the one who was David's friend and had the horse farm. She seemed very sympathetic to David and tried to help him a lot, and she also seemed to have good boundaries with him and didn't let him take advantage of her. I think he appreciated the discipline. If I come across any specific places to direct you to read about it, I will post again. But yeah- it looks sweet. As I say, I wouldn't mind owning one of those, and particularly THAT one if it really was Ruff's! Thanks for finding and posting it.

Rufferino,
Thanks for the info. I am going to try to locate the mobile home reference in Genna's book.

Merry Christmas All, I was not around in 1976 However I thought David had said his motorhome was a Winnebago. The mobile home or trailer referenced in South Lyon, MI was a temporary mobile home on the property while a home and horse barn was being built. We started with vacant property. I just sold the property this year but if anyone is interested in viewing it the addy is 64346 8 mile. South Lyon MI

Thanks for the clarification, Debbie. CityStars, maybe you are right then, that if this is indeed David's mobile home, that he used it for touring around. I just have never read anything about him owning a mobile that he toured in, but it could have been. Also, this may not be David's, dunno at this point. Debbie, I looked up the address and could only find one picture, of the house. If you know of a good link could you please, pretty please post it here? Would love to visualize the scene of the stories of DER...... Hope everyone had a good Christmas, didn't get snowed in or flooded or anything!
