They had his age wrong he was 56 not 59. this year has not been kind at all..he was one of my favorite's and I have his music on my playlist on my phone..smh this broke my heart.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- R&B singer/songwriter/producer Kashif Saleem (Michael Jones), better known as Kashif, died earlier this week at age 59. He was found by a neighbor in his Playa del Rey home. A cause of death has not been released.
Kashif got his start as a vocalist and keyboard player in the 1970s with the funk band B.T. Express, whose big hits were "Express" and "Do It 'Til You're Satisfied." He went on to have a successful solo career, but two of his biggest hits were "Love Changes" – a duet with Melisa Morgan, and "Lover Turn Me On."age 59

Kashif got his start as a vocalist and keyboard player in the 1970s with the funk band B.T. Express, whose big hits were "Express" and "Do It 'Til You're Satisfied." He went on to have a successful solo career, but two of his biggest hits were "Love Changes" – a duet with Melisa Morgan, and "Lover Turn Me On."
During his more than 40-year career, Kashif has written and/or produced material for Evelyn "Champagne" King, Howard Johnson, Jermaine Jackson, Janet Jackson, Barry White, Stacy Lattisaw, George Benson, Dionne Warwick and many others.
Kashif wrote "You Give Good Love," a song that was originally meant for Roberta Flack, but instead went to then-newcomer Whitney Houston, launching what would become a stellar recording career.
According to Billboard Magazine, at the time of his passing, Kashif was working on a 10-part documentary entitled "The History of R&B Music and Its Influence on World Culture."
A number of musicians and performers, including Questlove of The Roots, have posted their thoughts and condolences on Twitter
