Same here Common. Mr.Paul Williams was one of my favorites. His vocals were every bit as good as David's and Eddie's {my opinion}he just stopped getting leads. Has anybody seen Andy? ?

:)I was privledged enough to meet most of the guys casually, but the one that I really got to know, was Eddie. Just wanted anyone who reads this to know that Eddie was the gentleman he protrayed. Classy to the core...I am so sorry to say that I never got to meet Paul. He had passed before I came into the picture.

Hi Everyone: The classic lineup was the best. I remember the first time I saw them in concert. It was 1967 in Asbury Park, N.J. The warm up act was a brass group called the Magnificent Men.They sang a few songs and then did sang, (to the tune of Sweet Soul Music?)"spot light on the Temptations with sweet eminations, singing Ain't Too Proud TO BEg Y'All, singing Ain't to proud To Beg' They then sang the song and the auditorium fell silent, and the lights went out. You could perceive the electricity and excitement. Then the music stated and the guys came out. They wore black, double-breasted Edwardian suits, almost like the ones they wore in Paul's Don't Look Back performance on tape, except I recall the lining as red not blue. Eddie started the medley, threw the mike in the air, and someone grabbed it and stared singing.I don't remember the song, but I remember the man. He was tall, skinny, and he wore glasses. At the end of the show, which seemed too short, they closed with Losing You and danced around the tall, skinny man with glasses. Funny, that was 36 years ago, and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

8-)Hey Jersey Guy. Thanks for that memory. I saw the original Tempts several times, and it was always like the first time. They were so exciting!!! We love that skinny guy in the glasses. He always gave people their money's worth. Don't be a stranger.

Welcome JerseyGuy! Thank you for sharing the memories! Man, I wish I was there, if only I wasn't born in the wrong decade. You guys had all the fun! I've read about the chemistry between the Thin Man & the Tall Skinny One With The Glasses. That must've been something to see them live. Even though there is footage of the C5 from back in the day, if the Tempts live LP is any indication, the group sounded more "looser & livelier" when they performed live. Again, thanks for that JerseyGuy & don't be a stranger!

Hello Again: I am the Jersey guy. I had to post under that name b/c it wouldn't take "Andy". Didn't anyone notice my writing style? My feelings are hurt.

:)Hey Board, and Jersey Guy aka Andy LOL! I have so many memories of the Classic five Tempts. Long before I had the pleasure of falling in Love with the skinny man wearing glasses. They would place the 5 mic stand on stage and the crowd{me included} would Go Crazy. Even now looking at footage I still feel that excitement. Little did any of them know they were making musical history.
