Anyone have any memories/words about this underrated Temptation? You know, I didn't know that Paul had sung on lead/co-lead on 41 Tempts songs. *Learned this tidbit from The Heart & Soul of Paul Williams BBS. Shoutout to you guys * So what songs did you enjoy hearing Paul sing on? Maybe we should start off with Paul's showstopping performance on TCB. Paul sings the hell out of For Once In My Life. You could tell Paul was really hurting & had to let it all out. Man, what a performance!

In my opinion Paul Wiliams was the heart and soul of the Classic Temptations. His performance on TCB was so emotional for viewers as well as Paul and the other Tempts. I heard they all cried after that performance. Paul was singing as if this was the last song he wold ever sing. Common you know my favorite Paul Wiliams song "Love I Can See". You also know how I feel about Otis and his Fake Tempts remake of it. "Don't Look Back" was also one of my favorite Paul Wiliams leads. When in "Just My imagination" Paul beautiful voice comes in with"Every Night On My Knees I Pray" to me that is so powerful. Also his vocals on Cloud Nine. I guess I'm just a Paul Williams fan. And couldn't that brother DANCE!!!! ;D

Common I forgot about "Hey Girl" and "Runing Away" I loved Paul on the standards to "Thats Life". Paul Wiliams was an amazing Talent, and I never felt he was second to Eddie or David.

:)I agree, Paul is a great talent. I was wondering what your feeling are on his passing? Some think he committed suicide while others think was murdered. Regardless of the reason, it is so sad...Does anyone ever hear anything from his family?

Hey How Y'all Be? I met Paul Williams the same time I met David and the other Temptations. I never got to know Paul. But I always loved his voice. I have been a fan of Paul Williams since Mother Of Mine. Molly I agree that "brother" could dance. Jody I have heard many stories about his death. I always accepted the suicide story to be truth. We Lost a Great Talent in Paul Williams.

There was such fire everytime I watch him especially when he & the Tempts are backing David on I'm Losing You/ My Girl medley on Ed Sullivan. Watch Paul during this performance. He's doing some serious steppin!! You know, I prefer the Live version of Don't Look Back than the studio version. The live version is much funkier.

I am in total agrreement about Mr. Paul Williams...he was indeed the heart and soul of the group! To me he was very soulful, tinged with gospel and blues. The man had one of the richest voices in history. I think the Lost and Found CD was Paul's. He had the most and the best songs on that cd. It was about time he got some recognition!

Hey Molly! In order to do the "quote" thingy, you click on "quote" by the person you want to quote from first. Then the box will open with the quote & you can post underneath the it.
Hey CP! Totally on point about the L&F CD being Paul's! I thought the same way. It really showcased Paul's vocal abilities. Kinda reminds me of Meet The Temptations where Paul dominated that LP too.

Hello Everyone: I'd just like to add that I think Paul was responsible for the guys' choreography. Don 't Look Back was also one of the closing numbers. I recall, and my memory could be flawed, "Back" was sung after the guys sang Losing You at the 2nd concert I saw. Paul stood out. I'm glad it is preservrd on tape.

Hey Andy!
Actually, it was the late Cholly Atkins that choreographed all the Tempts routines. Paul really was the best dancer in the group but Motown thought his steps weren't "polished" enough. So Cholly just added some "sheen" to the steps & then came in & created some of his own. Cholly, in his book, said that he had great respect for Paul & that he & Paul never had a problem as was rumored.
