Sept 4th or 12th(not sure which date it will be released in the US) The Temptations DVD will be released featuring clips from 1965-1971. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000H309Z6/202-0154905-5149405?v=glance&n=283926Some of us probably have most of these clips but if you want a better copy perhaps this might be the one to get. Unfortunately, there is no listing so we can't tell what will actually be on it. I would love to see their performance from the 1967 Roostertail Live Show but we know BG is holding onto that with an ironfist. I hope there will be a clip of the group singing, 'My Baby'. I have a clip of this but the footage is kinda dark. Nevertheless, it should be interesting. BTW, I wish yall could see the cover. Which lineup is featured??? Why the C5, of course! How ironic that as much as folks like to dog Ruffin, they still need throw his face out there to sell the C5 memorabilia.

This is wonderful news thanks Common I can't wait to see the dvd. you're right they try to dog him but, they use his face and his voice to advertise and sell. David wins again

Look So the U.S. can't see it? Tashac06, there is a US version coming out. That's what I posted in my previous post. I'm just not sure of the US date but I know it's around early September. I think the UK one is coming out around the same time, either after or before the US one is supposed to come out. I should have made that clear. So, don't panic. You'll be able to pick up a copy once it's released.

*Thinking out loud*You know, I don't watch my Tempts' footage often these days but when I do, it's like watching something different each time. Something new and exciting. I never get tired of watching the C5. My favorite clip to dance to (yes, I actually try to 'step' like a Tempt! LOL) is 'Don't Look Back'. Not only is it one of the coolest clips, it's a gass to watch Holy O f**k up royally on the dance steps! ;D ;D ;D Just watching that clip reminded me why this group, in particular, David, Eddie & Paul(The Voices) are so loved today. I hope this DVD will give others the chance to catch the C5 experience!! ;D ;D ;D

Commom i have to agree with you wholeheartedly..when ever i play my footage its just like seeing it for the first time all over again to me.i love it!! i just appreciate their work and talent ,and i will take it a step further i appreciate Motown (with the exception of Motowns faults) for giving these guys a chance, actually giving our people a chance in general to be heard out there in such trying times back then......and BTW i just laugh everytime i see Otis mess up in the "Dont look back" footage lol...my fave to get down to is "Get ready"
the (((((((((((classic 5 or 4 forever)))))!!!lol

David had been performing since he was a kid. Eddie & Paul worked to perfect their craft in dancing and harmonizing. IMO, I think these men is what really made the C5, C5. Not excluding Melvin because his bass voice is just awesome but I think he & O knew that they were really onto something when they came together with Eddie & Paul. David was the icing on the cake. Just watching perform together(yes, including O!) and it's just awesome to watch that kind of chemistry. There will never be a group of men like that again. The Get Ready clip I love to watch as well because Cholly Atkins was really on his game on the intricate dance steps. Casey Kasem was right that watching the Tempts was like watching a broadway play.

Very true,i think its safe to say when i quote Mr Eddie Kendricks "we(Eddie and paul) brought the better half"....then David came on board these guys were not a force to be reckoned with...i would say melvin was very instrumental ( no pun intended :-)) in the classic 5 fantastic bass,he is very much appreciated also, Otis could have been ANYONE else,he didint stand out..Just another body....you speak of chemistry that these men had ,and i cant help but to agree...i feel proud of these men (Classic 4..i mean 5 lol) ...while on the topic of chemistry per se, as i was speaking to a friend of mine about the other day...even footage of David and Eddie performing as a duo in latter years, didin't you just see the closeness..the bond as performers...i mean with the exception of the splits from the group and Motown ,and all the trials and tribulations these two have never lost their bond as you can clearly see when they performed together....i just think thats great! "Cholly Atkins was really on his game on the intricate dance steps"Cholly Atkins didn't play ...

It seemed no matter how angry they got at each other, they were always there to look out for one another. Their chemistry never waned and it seemed like the other knew what the other was going sing or do. It was great to see these men so loyal to each other. I think some entertainers of today could take a chapter from their book.
