Okay Ruffunites..
If you are looking for ways too tone your body, I challenge you to dance to the tempts moves.
I was searching for ways to jump start my exercise program and the tempt moves where perfect!!
I put on my work out gear and start moving to "Ain't too Proud To Beg" David gave me my money worth.. the man was all over the tube.. quiet naturally I had the nerve to try to beat him.. When the song was over, I sat in the chair begging for a cup a water. but I got back up and proceed to the next song..."Get Ready" this time I work out to Eddie's moves a little low tempo
Ruffanites:: Here are some rules: IF you have not work out in years, please do not try to do David's moves you will be in a coma.
Pray before you start because the tempts are going to work your butt off.
Make sure you have comfortable clothes remember this is a total work out.
Finally, set your own pace: If you don't want to high tense workout stay away from David's and Paul's moves.
Eddie's moves are more low to medium tense.. best place for ruffanites who has not seen the gym.
Melvin's and O's moves I was not clear what the hell they were doing so please be caution you might sprain your ankle.

Unless you want to be paralayzed for the rest of your life, I wouldn't *attempt* to do DR's moves! You have to be in pristine condition or blessed with amber limbs to do it like DR. Now, the others I might attempt to do since it looks like something I could work with.

The Tempts routines were choreographed just for the Tempts. When you look at artist like Prince and Michael Jackson it is very easy to see that they were influenced by the God father of Soul James brown. In Ruffin's case I don't see anybody.

Hello molly In the Ultimate Collection interview with David Ritz he credits Jackie Wilson for at least partially influencing his moves to the best of my memory..somebody told me before he joined the temptations that h ewould go up on stage and do Jackie Wilson impersonations i don't know how true that story is.

Abe! I have to agree with Molly. I know David liked Jackie's singing and dancing. When David was a Tempt he did the Williams/Atkins routines. When he was a solo artist he did a little dancing,but I never knew of David's dancing ever coming close to Jackie Wilson. I don't know about the impersonating Jackie on stage. I didn't know him then.

I recall reading in David's Ultimate Collection, that David said that he was inspired by the gospel groups. He said he recall them doing splits & flips on stage. I, too, have never read about Jackie Wilson connection.

Hey Abe! I didn't know that Ruffin did impersonations of Jackie Wilson. I don't know what moves Ruffin was speaking of in his interviews. But his steps were chorographed. He wasn't doing any free-style when he was with the Tempts. So I have to say his moves were infleunced by Paul Williams and Cholley Atkins. Actually Ruffin didn't have his own dance style when he was with the Tempts. He was doing the same steps Eddie,Paul,Melvin and Otis was doing. Well maybe not O.

Everytime I see footage of DR ... I see himself ... everyone who was an influncer started their own stuff .. And DR ... Just had ... Himself as a influance ... He threw his personality in to it ... and made a WONDERFUL show for fans ... Splits, Spins, and all the steps in between ... His steps ... were his own ;

DF,, I learn my lesson... there is not way in hell will I be doing Ruff's moves.. whew the man was something else... (((Queen)))! Like you, I was trying to do David's moves and ended up with torn ligaments in my left calf, achilles tendinitis, a boot brace for 8 weeks, as well as physical therapy! After this, I think I will stick to Eddie's moves! Damn!!
