Queenie...I was not about to hop on the Soul Train tv show. It was after school...you had to be downtown at about 4:00 in the afternoon. It wasn't all that...it was in a little funky studio. I'd rather stay at home and watch everybody else...see if I knew anyone going down the Soul Train line so we could talk about them when we saw them. Don had a nasty attitude and his sidekick, Clinton Ghent, had an even nastier one. A couple of years later I did go to the Skyway Lounge where they had adult Soul Train on Tuesday nights. Don Cornelius used to tease me about my afro...asking me was that a wig. All the time he had on one. ;D The Skyway was THE spot! The Emotions, Duke of Earl, ChiLites, Notations The Staples...and a lot of other local talent used to hang out there. Queenie...please don't make me go down memory lane! ;D

LOL Queenie. Old Don has always sported a wig! Soul Train was a very strange show. The regulars could dance in this area, the lesser-than folks could dance in this other area. Most artists were only aloud to lip sinc.

I thought in the beginning, the acts sang live. Several of the Soul Train performances I have, the acts are singing live. And I thought that that afro was all Don's! HA! Been fooled again!
