DAVID RUFFIN JUNIOR was born to sing. His dad (the late David Ruffin of The Temptations) and his mother Genna brought David Jr. into the world in Detroit one July day in the mid-sixties. Music has been a constant since his infancy when he not only slept to that sound in recording studios, but from the wings, he studied his famous father's onstage performances. Eventually he chose to explore his own musical direction. Forays into diverse styles and forms expanded his musical frontiers and broadened his horizons.Who gives a hoot when the boy was born.. She acts like world hungry went into submission who cares... The boy can't sing why in the hell she continues to compare him with his dad.. Is she for real?? Born with a gift, which did not make itself known until just after his father's death, he has spent years honing his multiple skills. His range is rich. And not only does he sing--and sing very well--he arranges, produces and is a prolific songwriter. This is apparent in listening to this first CD. He has appeared in clubs around the country with such greats as The Temptations and The Dramatics, to name but two. He also toured with The Dramatics as the opening act and appeared with them in the popular video "Street Gold: The Original Temptation Leads“--a tribute to his late dad and “family friends“. As an early part of his L. A. adventure, David also spent a time working closely with super-producer, Dr. Dre. This, in turn, led to his collaboration on Snoop Dogg's international hit "Gin & Juice", on which David sung the choruses under the name “D Ruff“.Has Genna heard the boy sing?? Someone needs to wake her up from a terrible dream. The child needs music lessons before embarking on the music scene. Please don't mention "Street Gold" video my ears are hurting.. After ending that association, David began to conceptualize an emerging approach that has been described as a unique blend "ranging from traditional to hard-core R&B--soft but real." It ranges even to what his mother has been known to call “hip-hop doo-wop”.Yes he has an unique sound alright.. some thing out of a horror show.. WTF hip-hop doo-wop is this a new name to horrible music??

IF JR. had been smart he would have stayed with Dr.Dre. Look at Eminem. Dre is the one that signed him. Usually an artist sells his work to "make" a living. Not as some damn fund raiser. Lawd!!!! Hell, why don't they just have a telethon if they need money that badly?? ;D ;D ;D On second thought, maybe the Palace should have a telethon for David & give the proceeds for drug treatment. Really, Jr needs to support his kids instead relying on the public. And maybe if his attitude wasn't so nasty, the public MIGHT'VE bought his CD. There are alot of singers who can't carry a tune properly but their charisma & dynamic personalities carry them over.

LOL ... what was that one song in the 80's with the dude dressed as a classical preforemer? His voice was HORRID! Otis could out sing him ... Gotta borrow some words from my man Simon Cowel "That was absolutley dreadful." ... You know who I mean right? lol ... But people love the song ... I forgot about that time Junior came to the palace startin' crap ... lol ;D

I was just thinking how impressed I am with Bob Dylan's kid. He tries to distance himself as far away from his father as possible. He does not allow the use of his father's name or image to market his band for concerts and appearances. Even Gerald Levert does not capitalize on his father's name or legacy even though he sounds just like him. Perhaps what's his name should learn something from them.
