(Jan. 21, 2004) *ABC-TV has recruited something old and something new to help them celebrate the hit singles of Motown. Justin Timberlake and Lionel Richie will host Motown 45, which is slated to air sometime in May and will feature two hours of non-stop performances.
The special will be taped at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on April 4. All proceeds from ticket sales to the event will be donated to the United Negro College Fund.

First of all, when I read this, I'm like why is Justin Timberlake hosting this show?? He wasn't nor is he a Motown artist!! But I guess the producers call themselves trying to introduce another generation to Motown. I don't know who will be on the show so we'll have to wait & see. I remember Motown 40 & quite frankly, it was boring. Let's see what the producers come up with.

I think Diana, Smokey, the Tempts were on featured on the show. I remember it vaguely. But I do remember the part where P. Diddy was in the studio with BG, remixing The Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back'. BG looked bored to say the least. Overall, the show wasn't all that either.
