LOL!LOL! Andy you know that's right. But I'm gonna have to agree with CP. Otis is going to need air-conditoning in the here-after. Because it it true that What goes aound comes around. BG and Otis both were able to do what the did together because "Game recognizes Game"

Hello Board. I wasn't with David when he was a Temptation, but I started seeing him very shortly after he was let go. I have to agree that there was an under current of bad feelings between David and Otis. Even after the seperation Otis was threatened by David's talent and popularity. CP and Marge you have both spoke correctly. David was tricked out of the group and Berry Gordy also had an axe to grind with David. David had told me of things that had happened earlier in his career at Motown. Things that Berry didn't like. Thing's that Berry never forgot. Marge I agree that David and Tammi's relationship may have irked Berry a little. There were times when David would talk openly about different things that happened. Then there were times when questioned about certain events he would say It wasn't personal,It was the nature of the business. I could not possibly say that David forgave the people involved because I don't know. But he had more class than Otis and he never tried to discredit him in public . I believe the only person that David did confide in completely as far as his career was concerned was Jimmy, his Big Brother. Not that he was secretive, but David was very good at hidng his hurt and disappointment. I have never known David to be envious of others talents either. But the bottom line here is exactly what you all have said. David Ruffn helped shape the Temptations and Motown's history, and nothing can change that.

Good morning all! Der68- I've always felt that there was an undercurrent of tension between BG & David. I recall David saying on Street Gold that he lived with Mom & Pops Gordy & worked with Pops. He said that he helped build one of the buildings that was part of the Motown properties(something which was repeated in one of the Motown books). I often wondered was Pops relationship with David after he blew up with the Tempts. It's interesting what you said about BG having a long memory. BG's wife talked about in her book how BG played alot of mind games with people. She called him a "thief of dreams". I recall in her book she briefly mentioned David early on in the days of Motown & all she said that "David brought his talent- and his problems". What she meant by that, I have no idea. But also got the impression from her, that she didn't understand David either because she really wasn't around him often enough. Anyway, I'm rambling right about now but I just thought I'd add to the discussion.

Hello Everybody! One day I will do a conference email regarding the David/Tammi/BG saga. But I have never gotten the whole story on David and O. I've heard a lot of different stories, but they all ended with O was just jealous of David. I think that was what drove O to do a lot of things that he did where David was concerned. But I've always thought there was something else. Hopefully when Jimmy finally releases his book. He will tell us the story. David and Jimmy did love each other. Thats why I get mad when I hear these stories about Jimmy being jealous of David's career. Jimmy was a singer so of course he wanted to be successful, but that didn't take away from the fact that he was proud of his brother.
