For anyone who wants to get David's music, you can check it out here: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/102-7817441-3917716Personally, I have the Ultimate Collection, which is excellent. The Essential Collection contains a couple of songs not featured on the Ultimate & one unreleased track(can you guess which one?). Enjoy!

Thanks Common I will be picking up my copy. Like you, I have David's Ultimate Collection and I really enjoyed the CD. However, I will add Essential Collection just to listen to hits that were not on the Ultimate Collection.
Once again thanks for your fact finding mission to educate new fans!!!

Hello this is abe i bought a british imported David Ruffin CD a couple of the songs gave a hint of what david might have sounded like if he recorded with Gamble/Huff in the late 70's?It was good because David Ruffin fans had a chance to heard certain songs that were never released on Cd.

Hi Abe! You must be talking about the Essential David Ruffin Collection. It has David wearing that mink-collared tux the cover? Is that the one you have? If so, then you might as well get the Ultimate Collection. It has about 20 songs on it, if I'm not mistaken. Both CDs have almost the same the songs on it except there is one different unreleased song on each CD. I don't know if I would've like Gamble/Huff's work on David. I'd have to give that some thought.......

Hello common This is abe,But do you feel that you get an idea of how he might have sounded with Gamble/Huff when he covered"I Miss You"? Well, abe, that's kinda not a good example because it was produced by Bobby Miller from Chi-town. Chi-town has it's own sound. Very laid back. I don't know if David would've been able to fit into that Philly sound. Maybe he could, maybe he couldn't. It's hard for me to say. I would have to really think about it......
