Sorry if this has been discussed before, but can anyone tell me if David and Tammi were still together when she became ill? I heard "Since I Lost My Baby" yesterday, and I know on the "Street Gold " video, David speaks about losing her when that song was recorded, and that made me wonder. Karralyn

Can someone please answer Karralyn's comments?
Karralyn, based on what I read here at the Palace. I think David was messing around with Tammi and little bit Sandra..
jr's mother was messing around with David and Paul W. at the time of Tammi's death.

Thanks for the answers. I had never heard that Genna was messing with Paul Williams. I did hear that he,{ Paul}, was in love with Winnie Brown, and she was Flo's cousin and the Supreme's hairdresser, I think. I have read so many Motown books, I hope I kept this right. I watched the Marvin special on PBS the other night, and a segment of it was Marvin and Tammi...she was sooooooo pretty and so talented!! Such a sad loss.

Duchess, On the Street Gold video, David does not mention Tammi by name, but he does say something to the effect that he thinks of this special young lady when singing this song. I asked somebody on the board if he was referring to Tammi and they confirmed it. I haven't watched it for a while either....I love it, but it kind of breaks my heart to watch it at the same time too, ...know what I mean? Such talent, and the years of joy the music has brought to me. I have been a Temps /Motown freak since junior high school, and that's a loooog time ago. karralyn

Where the hell did you hear that? From Genna's million dollar book, she said, 'she was in the bed with Paul Williams at Blue's house.'

Yeah, I hear you about "Street Gold"; I love it too but it's something I can't watch everyday....too sad . I'm a rookie Temps fan compared to a lot of you guys here (been a fan since '97). Queenie, it has been awhile since I read Genna's book, and there was so much sh*t in it I couldn't read the entire thing (I skimmed), but I think I remember what part you are talking about, and Genna was implying that she slept in the same bed with Paul but nothing happened (they literally slept together; no sex). If my memory serves me right, I think Genna said Paul was extremely drunk at the time. Somebody please help me out here because I can't stand behind my statement with a whole lot of accuracy lol.

Ok.....I found the passage on Page 89 of Genna's so-called book. She says that David would kick her to the curb when one of his women would show up and leave her stranded without any money or milk for the baby. page90....it was invariably Paul who saved me. He'd give me money, milk, food, whatever was needed. He'd give me his room if he planned to spend the night elsewhere, which he seldom failed to do,by the way. If things got tough, we'd even share a room. Once we shared a hotel bed, I was stranded and he was drunk. What a pair. Melvin Franklin's mother walked into the room, took one look at the 2 of us in the same bed, turned and left. In a minute her and Melvin were back, took a look at us, and walked out. It was strange and embarrassing. Although Paul and I never had sex,I'm sure Melvin and Mama Rose thought we did. She says if they ever mentioned it to David, he surely would have confronted her about it. He was crazy jealous of her and accused her of many affairs but never with Paul. Yes, I was one of the dummies that got suckered into buying this book a few years ago. It is a really strange book. LOL karralyn

Damn, my memory was right! Thanks, karralyn, for looking that up. Don't apologize for buying that book.....at least now you know how full of sh*t Genna truly is lol! I was fortunate enough to get a FREE bootleg copy of the book (don't ask ) and I STILL couldn't read the whole thing lol. I couldn't bring myself to read the whole book because 1) It was so unbelievable and so obviously made-up, exaggerated, and just plain full of sh*t that I couldn't stand it, and 2) I don't give a f*ck about Genna or her pathetic life! So I just skimmed the damn book lol! But I did remember that Paul part pretty well.

...And, oh yeah, karralyn, I remember reading something in that Ebony article about Tammi's brain tumor and her recovery (circa 1969 or so) that she was dating some doctor at the time, so I don't think she was still with David unless it was on the DL lol. But then again, this statement is going on my sometimes shaky memory lol. I wonder if it is possible to obtain a copy of that Ebony article? Later

Duchess, I bought the book that Tammi's sister wrote, also, and when I have some time I will look that up too about the Doctor. I believe that she was seeing him when she was at home after she became very ill. Such a shame, a tragedy, and a waste. She was sooooo pretty and so talented. This book did not have a whole lot of stuff in it about her and David, a bit , but not too much. I was rather disappointed in it also. The best book I have read about David is "Deliver Us From Temptation" by Tony Turner. It is terrific. If you haven't read it, you really, really should!!! It will make you laugh and cry. karralyn
