"NOSTALGIA" (TAMMI TERRELL & JAMES BROWN'S ABUSIVE ROMANCE) According to Tammi Terrell's sister Ludie, during one weekend, "Our mother received a distressing telephone call. Mother was horrified to learn that a 17-year-old Tammi had encountered some trouble on the road and was coming home. James Brown had beaten her mercilessly and Tammi wanted out." Singer Gene Chandler was also on the tour and said Tammi was in a tumultuous relationship with James Brown. He adds, "I witnessed the situation and she came to me for help, then I called her parents." Ludie adds, "My father was especially hurt because he knew James and he trusted him with Tammi since she was only 17 and he was 30." "When Tammi returned home she looked disheveled, tired and just worn out. I learned that night that she had been trying to get away for some time but was worried about breach of contract repercussions." "While mother and I were unpacking Tammi's things in the basement my mother discovered a blue, silk oriental dress. It was called a Kimono and James had bought it for Tammi. This dress had particular significance! There was blood all over it. An umbrella, rella, rella? (damn that Rihanna song lol!) James Brown was a special kind of freak! It always seems like them really gifted, creative, genius-like folks have the most demons; are the most tormented souls, don't it? I think JB had mama issues that manifested itself in a true hatred of women. Wasn't JB abandoned by his mama? - There you go! Seems like when a dude has a deep-seeded hatred of women (whether he's aware of it or not) it comes out in battery and/or violent, freaky sex....like R. Kelly - that dude has some serious women issues to be peeing on girls. And JB penetratin' folks with an umbrella, rella, rella (damn that song! lol) that's some deep-seeded hatred, man! Okay, end psychiatry lesson lol.

Lawd!!! I don't know why Tammi's dad was upset,or her Momma was horrified. They should have known dayum well she was too young to be on the road with grown folks. James Brown was "not" a nice man.
They weren't that upset, because they like Brown and his people kept this shyt "hush-hush",when it was going on. What made them think JB was going to "baby-sit" their daughter???
HTH you going to entrust your teen age daughter with a 30 year old man?
BTW Tammi was younger than 17 when she went on the road with the "Godfather".

I know damn well Tammi was younger than 17...Ludie just trying to dress things up. People will trust these fools with their kids when they think they are going to make them famous. There was a girl in my neighborhood that was a teen singer but she only did weekends...when her mother could travel with her. She didn't trust those people with her daughter. As soon as Joyce(Mothers Finest) graduated from high school...she high tailed it out of Chi...we ain't seen her since.

James definitely had some issues anytime he has to beat on women for whatever reasons. they should have known better than to send Tammi out there on the road at such a young age and then to find out she was being beaten by James Brown... charges should have been pressed on his ass.

I hope she not dead Naw Queenie...she ain't dead! She was so anxious to leave her mother and get out in the world...she left Chicago and joined Mother's Finest. She rarely goes back to Chicago.
