Board
I have received my copy of the "Lead of the Temptations" the last video of Eddie and David. I could be wrong I know one of the members will correct me.
I noticed the brothers were tall!!
Question How tall were the Tempts? I hate to say this but in O's version of the inception of the Tempts the men did not seem to be that tall.
Board: You know I have to post my question so I can get the experts to answer it.
Also were they all thin... I understand Eddie and David had health problems so I really don't want to know their weight when they were sick. However, I want to know when they were young.
Next Question: Eddie looks dashing did he dress like that throughout his career as a Tempts/Solo

Hey NDF! First of all, how did you enjoy the tape? Very insightful wasn't it? All of The Tempts were over six feet tall. It later became a requirement. I guess they wanted a uniform look. The Classics looked like five athletes! Maybe they didn't appear to be tall because when they were on stage together, they appeared to all being the same height. Otis and Melvin were the two heaviest...Otis always had big thighs! ;D David and Eddie were always thin, but I think David might have been a little heavier under different circumstances. My guess is that during their latter years, they had lost about 30 pounds...that's a hell of a lot of weight for an already thin person. (I'm only guessing) Yes! Brother Eddie was always clean on and off stage. He was very fashion conscious and creative as well. David was known to put together some creations also. ;D

NDF...here is an interesting quote I ran across after posting your response:
"Dennis had left the group and we searched coast to coast for a replacement with no luck. One day we got a resume and picture with a tape from this cat in Atlanta; he looked good, sounded oaky, and was the qualified six feet tall. We sent for him that afternoon, and he was in Los Angeles by midnight. Now, I am the shortest Tempt at six-feet-one and a little bit, and here comes this little guy fresh from off the plane reaching up to shake my hand. This guy had to be five-feet-six. My voice is big and at that time of the night in a deserted airport, it echoed all over the place and bounced off the walls when I shouted, 'You are too g**damn short! Why didn't you tell us you weren't six feet tall!' Here we had spent our last money to fly this dishonest person to Los Angeles--man, we didn't have no more money in the account!"

CP I love the tape as matter of fact, the tape has become my all time favorites.. I enjoy David talking about his early beginnings in the entrainment business. I am glad he told the story I am tired of everyone else wants to tell David's life. Performance of the My Girl was outstanding boy I would have paid just about anything to see in person oh well the next best thing is the tape. That man knows he can blow and tear up a song. I can only imagine David singing the song in his prime. Eddie's version of the inception of the Tempts (the true version) He bought the better half well Mr. Kendrick we all knew that by the songs the temps sung. Moreover, never heard the song "Can I" well I fixed that I have the CD and I play it everyday as matter a fact to honor Eddie's birthday, I played his CD all day yesterday. To me Eddie was a better performer as a solo artist than a Temp because you can hear the different ranges in his voice. Eddie is able to sing high and natural tenor not too many can do that. David explanation of leaving the group: Who cooked up the idea that David was fired from the group he was still employed at Motown's pay roll that means you are still employed. Take it from me I have been fired (due to youth experience) the company told me to leave. Since David was bought the audience, he every right to demanded a title change. (Gosh I hope Otis is not reading this he might get me fired) David wanted to leave Motown but he was under contract well Board you know the history. Finally, David said no one could ever take your place in the group therefore some one needs to tell Otis the men are Tempts. David signature song is My Girl.... Eddie signature song is Just My Imagination" ...Denise signature song is "Cloud Nine" (board I know it is some more but you get the point) No one will ever do those songs like the original tenors.

Cp that was a good story But come on CP O's thighs? LOL!LOL!his booty was kinda prominant too. O wasn't bad looking back in the day. But he was greazy looking. David was always a thin brother but like CP said in the latter years he was Real Thin. When I hugged David in Philly It was like hugging one of my grand kids. He was real small. Eddie was always Sharp! I mean always clean. Eddie used to have a lot of input into what the Temps wore. Those purple suits was Eddie's idea. There is certain footage of David where he looks plain unhealthy. But the Hall and Oates footage I thnk is about the best he looked in his latter days. BTW has anybody seen Andy or Evita?

Hi Andy! Say hi to Mickey for me. Molly, you're right...Otis was a handomse young man...head full of hair and those big dreamy eyes...but no personality! Did you ever see O on the BET special where The Tempts were barbequeing. O was talkin mess and turning that meat like he knew what he was doing ;D I just know he can get down on the grill. I guess it's some things the man knows how to do. BTW, has anyone seen any of his artwork? He's supposed to be a hell of an artist. I wish he would display some of his work.
