Bernie Hayes has reported the death of E.Rodney Jones, former local disk jockey on Friday (01- 02-04) who had been on the air in Shreveport at radio station WXOK..
There will be services in Shreveport on Wednesday, and then again in Chicago on Friday, January 9, 2004.
The wake will be at 11 AM, with services following at 11:30 at the Gatlin Funeral Home, 103rd and Halsted on the city's South Side,
The death of the Mad Lad is the third radio personality/announcer to pass over in the past month - after Gracy and Donny BrooksI am so saddened to hear about the death of one of Chicago's pioneer deejays. E. Rodney was one of the mc's of many of the shows at Regal Theater during the time The Classic Five were touring. He will be greatly missed! RIP, E Rodney! Hey CP! I've never heard of the man but it's been discussed over there. And I saw Weldon's post. My sympathies & prayers go out to the family.
