Board,
When EJK was talking to YOU about the inception of Temptations Group, did the THIN man mention who selected Tempts audition songs: the group or Motown?
In the Books of Lies' miniseries Tempts sung 'Mother of Mine' and 'Cmon', Mother of Mine was produced by Motown producer and so-called founder {O} wrote ‘Cmon’ we need to check the validity of his song writing skills. In reality, did tempts performed both songs? Or did BG selected the songs for each artist who audition for him, I can’t see no talent song cinched the deal for a Motown contract.

Queen, I cannot remember where I read it, but I believe I read that Paul sang "A Hundred Pounds Of Clay" for the Tempts audition.

The Elgins as they were tagged at the time of their audition sang a few songs. Micky Stevenson an extremely gifted writer/producer worked with them prior to them singing to Berry. He was responsible for the song selection. They switched off leads, but it was the mellow voice of Paul Williams that Mickey fell in love with. "A Hundred Pounds Of Clay" and "Oh Mother Of Mine", were the most memorable.

Mickey thought all five guys could sing. He loved Paul's voice on lead for the songs he selected for Berry to hear. He was a big fan of Eddie Kendrick as we all were. We were all Temptation fans. Don't loose your mind, you're going to need it. ;D ;D

But they put records to a vote in the motown office, Did berry really do votes like that? I mean asking IF YOU HAD A DOLLAR AND IT WAS YOU LAST, WOULD YOU BUY THIS RECORD OR A SANDWHICH? Did all that happen? ;D
