Also, if you read the description at the bottom right. It says that the lions (or atleast one of them) was real.
I've seen another pic of David sitting at a table with lions in front of him and I always assumed they were fake. Didn't think anyone would be that bold to be near an unrestrained lion like that unless you work with them all the time. I'm pretty shocked to find out that they were real.
I hope David had a shotgun somewhere in that car behind him. ;D

I had not seen this particular pic, but of course I've seen the other pics from this same photo shoot, and I had posted this question somewhere on this board about the lions. This says the shoot was in L.A., so that tells me this may have actually been in San Diego at the wild animal park.,where the animals are kept in their native habitats, and the people are confined to certain walk ways, etc. In 1974 the park had only been open for 2 years and was still being developed, so maybe the producer was able to set up this shoot on the grounds there. But I'm not at all surprised that David had the cojones to do a shoot like this! I think the kings of the jungle recognized one of their own, as David was truly a king.

Here's another lion pic from that same website. I think this lion looks like a big stuff toy; what do you think?

These are nice pics, but I sure wouldn't be that close to a lion ;D
