Yes, I combined the two pictures. I thought their smiles and energy matched up well, and it was fun to do. Don't they make a beautiful couple? Rufferino

Thanks, Bees. If I get some time, I thought I would try some other re-combinings. Kinda fun to re-create reality the way we wish it was/could have been. Been following some of these threads for a while. I sure wish Quincy Jones would get involved with a documentary on David while he still can do it... he would do a great job I think, and maintain high production values with the music, which would help show the world what an amazing vocalist and innovator David was. Tell the musician's or artist's story, not the National Enquirer version that others have done.

Hey has anyone else seen this Unsung piece on Tammi? There are a couple of pictures of David & Tammi that I've never seen.. in fact I've never seen any pictures of them together. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9iHLx8i-4g&NR=1What an amazingly sad yet inspiring story hers is......what a beautiful spirit.

Yes I did read that other thread - thanks for reminding me about it - and I agree with most of what was said. I thought the cousin, Grace Wood, was right on, and very perceptive. She was talking about how sexual abuse victims often become promiscuous because they feel that's what's expected of them.....and take on the guilt of the perp. (this is what happens to a child). I've often wondered if this applies to David as well....and if that was something they had in common, and could relate to each other in maybe a deep unspoken way, because of it. Since the mom convinced James Brown to come and check out Tammi, it makes me think that the mom was living her unfulfilled dreams of being in showbiz, through Tammi..whew! That's enough analysis for now! anyway, it seemed to be a fairly balanced piece....but of course not the whole story.

According to Unsung and the linear notes for Jimmy and David's duet album Tammi and David broke up before she became ill. But it states they remained close, and actually got along better as friends than lovers. In the Jimmy and David linear notes it stated that Tammi told one of her friends to always watch out for David for her. It also stated that David flew to Philadelphia to see her before she passed.

In the Jimmy and David linear notes it stated that Tammi told one of her friends to always watch out for David for her. It also stated that David flew to Philadelphia to see her before she passed. This information mainly came from Tammi's sister's book, which is why Ludie was on the Unsung program.
