Does anyone else believe that David's fame would have been even greater, if Eddie's voice did not fail him at the end? I think those two guys could have named their price if that were true.

Welcome back Andy...
The way the industry was I doubt it remember the industry is greer to a young audience therefore youth rules.
Things would have been the same because the problems they had with Motown. I think people still come out to the concerts no matter how he sound. The fans remember the good old days and that what counts!!

Andy, when Ruffin and Kendricks was released in the 80's, I was overjoyed...thinking they were back on the map. I played One More For The Lonely Hearts club to death! I think they were not properly promoted...which is the key. When you look at some of these no talent artists...you just have to wonder how they made it. The California Raisins got more promotion than Ruffin and Kendricks. I feel the music industry cheated us out of some good music. In the words of Johnny Mae Mathews "...get on my damn nerves!"

I totally agree with CP!. I remember this album and I thought the vocals were very good. They didn't have good promotion. Some of David's material wasn't that good either.

I also remember that they had a bid to do a halftime show at a superbowl game. I don't remember what came of it, but I would have loved to see those two guys get all the applause, fame and fortune they deserved.

They did it, the pre-game show...They were scheduled to do the half-time show with NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK, but, it ended up that they had to do the pre-game show with THREE DOG NIGHT. The pre-game show was not televised.

Okay, I think I can answer this one. I think that David & Eddie would have been very successful on the concert circuit & who knows, maybe even get another record deal in the early 90s. But today, being that this a different era in music & the Tempts miniseries, this would've brought greated exposure to David & Eddie, had they lived to see it. I don't know if they would've gotten a record deal, but they would've been wildly popular on the touring circuit. I hope this answers your question, I think.

hELLO THIS IS ABE, I THINK ABOUT WHAT DAVID AND EDDIE MIGHT BE DOING MUSICALLY IF THEY WERE STILL ALIVE IT WOULD BE GOOD TO SEE THEM ALIVE AND PERFORMING BECAUSE E VERY ERA HAS ITS TALENT BUT THE TALENT OF DAVID AND EDDIE'S GENERATION WILL NEVR BE AGAIN.cERTAIN CLASSIC SONGS THEY PUT THEIR STAMP ON SO THAT'S WHY I AND A LOT OF OTHER FANS WOULD HAVE WANT TO SEE THEM PERFORM.

It Eddie and DR were alive today...my simple wish is for them to be living well. I would like to see them retired, playing golf, and only touring when they felt like it. It's not that I don't want newer fans having the benefit of seeing them in concert; but by this time, they would have worked exceptionally hard and would deserve to be chilling right about now. Maybe producing, or teaching some of these newbies the art of song sculpturing!

If Eddie Kendrick were still with us,does anyone think he might be proud of Reuben for carrying on the tradition of Birmingham an Eddie fan told me that if Eddie were still with us that he would not only be proud he would give reuben advice.Yes i think david and Eddie should tour occasionally if they were stull with us because they have historical importance in music.I heard that artists can keep peforming as long as they're happy, the fans are happy and if its' financially benefitting.Every geneartion has talent but as i said the talent from David and eddie's generation can't be replaced or duplicated.Abe

Hello Abe. They were certainly something to see. But every era has its own music, its own sound. If these gentlemen were alive today I would hope niether would have to work so hard. On the road is hard when a person is young. I think they both would be involved in the music field, and maybe perform at special events. But doing concerts like before I don't think so.
