CP I crack up when I look at that scene too. Somehow I can see David doing and saying that. Marge the scene in the apartment where David tells Otis that line. I love it. I hope he really said that too. ;D I know that Otis had to be jealous of David's talent and fame. I know I couldn't take my eyes off of him when I first saw them perform. He was so dynamic. David never really talked that much about all the circumstances surronding his leaving the group. I ddn't know him that well when it happened. I know Eddie loved David, and I think he and Paul always had a good relationship. I can't understand why no other group members supported Davd in this. Marge I would also like to know how Otis had that much power within the group.

Without ME...The Tempts ain't nothin but a group in SEARCH of DAVID RUFFIN ;D Is that the line you're speaking of, der??? I really don't think Otis had any real power within the Tempts until he had run David, Eddie, and Paul away. It appears to me, he seized the opportunity to become 'leader' when everyone left...something he had always wanted to do anyway. If he could be Otis Williams and The Distants or Otis Williams and the Siberians... it stands to reason that he could call himself 'leader' of this group. Afterall, who was going to challenge him??? Didn't they see what happened to the others for talking too much? It reminds me of these two dogs sitting at my feet. The little one was here first, but the big dog is subservient to the little one because he was here first. The big dog moves out of the way and lets the little one eat and drink first...then he takes what is left. The little bad one trained her that way. Same with Oatass...I was here first syndrome. You know darn well O was jealous of David...it's written all over his face. On the Ed Sullivan show, I thought O was going to fall off that little cylinder he was standing on. He couldn't keep in step for watching David! ;D and David knew O was watching him...but he kept right on giving a flawless performance...like 'watch this mofo!' I think it was harder for O to keep up with the routines...the others looked like it was so easy for them. I think they call it 'hatin' nowadays! ;D ;D

Just a thought..Board..
Even though we all know the mini-series had more holes than a basketball net, the movie started Tempt revolution. The tempts fan base have increased ranging from 23 - 61 ( I am only guessing).
If David and Eddie were alived, boy they be on all networks telling their sides of the stories. Oprah, Letterman, Jay and the list goes on..
Concert venues and record sales will be endless.

NDF I agree, except for one thing the range of age. I was in the grocery store the other day, and a 10 year old was singing MY GIRL... ;D

Once the mini-series aired people wanted to know more about the group especially David. O's book was out of print. A little later he re-released the book. Not to be outdone in the market place genna releases her book. While both were negative, David's legacy did not suffer. David Ruffin 12 years after his death is still in the Limelight. Now ain't that something?
