New. David and Re-Re didn't record together to my knowledge. I do believe they preformed together on stage at one of her gigs. I don't know if I heard it,read it or dreamed it. CP! Common! is this true?Or am I making stuff up? They did love each other. Re-Re helped with some of his funeral expenses and spoke at the service.

Thanks Molly for your insight to my question.
Okay, I have another question to your last response Motown/Tempts did not help witht the funeral expenses? I saw the Orginal Leads of Tempt and saw the revolving door Tempts singing My Girl. By the way, they look faker than 3.00 bill standing up there crying. I am surprise someone did not throw a shoe up there and hit all them in the head.
They better be glad I was not a part of the Ruffin Family. The revolvers would seen the funeral like so many of his dearst fans on TV.

NDF - We could only wish that David & Aretha would've recorded together. That would've been one bad duet! Aretha was quoted in David's Ultimate Collection that David was one of the greatest soul singers of the '60s. Obviously, she was a fan of David's. Also, in the 80's, David & Eddie performed at Aretha's house when she was hosting a fundraiser in her home.

Eddie was looking in a state of disbelief...just numb! The nerve of these mofo's! I was so glad when Dennis pushed his way to the front and started outsinging Ali...I didn't know what to do. It shouldn't have had to come to that, but I guess Dennis felt it necessary, given the fact that these men probably didn't know the last time they saw David alive. Motown did not contribute to Eddie's funeral either. It was said that 'some mysterious Mr X contributed a great deal of the cost.' I wonder who this mystery person was? Hmmm.

Their tribute to David was the singing of "My Girl". Actually New I can't hold anything against them for not helping with David's funeral expenses. What is mind boggling to me is NoBody had insurance on David. Which neccessitated MJ having to pay for the bulk of it. David supposedly had so many women that Loved him why didn't they have insurance? Genna,Debbie,Diane? I have paid insurance premiums on my ex-husband's policy for years and years and will continue to do so. Why??? So my daughter will not have the burden of expenses in the event of his death if he is not carrying insurance on himself. There was a great show of affection from David's women at the time of his death. How many of them contributed? ?. I do know of one Lady that had a policy on David and made a gift of some of the monies to his children after his death. She gave me permissoin to post this here, but not to use her name.

Like CP said, it really got started when Dennis had enough of their antics & took over! Dennis had to be hurting. Poor Eddie, I read, was crying uncontrollably in his seat but he looked taken aback at the podium with O & his crew. Eddie & Dennis were with David until the end. I'm sure it annoyed them to no end about the way O nem was carrying on, knowing that they didn't even want to be bothered with David. I don't think the Tempts contributed anything. The whole funeral was paid by Michael Jackson with, Aretha offering her church for the services & paid for the cost of the obits, etc.

Now Common, let's be fair...Otis was up there...but he wasn't raising no sand! He appeared to be just standing there in a daze (with that damn jacket on he had been wearing everywhere for the past three years). It was Ali, Richard, and Paul's cousin (up there with that damn shorts set on???) that were singing the loudest. Richard just a boo hooing like a lil beach! ;D Maybe they thought they were on stage some where, hell, I don't know, all I know they put on one big show at such a solemn occassion.

Okay, O was in a "daze". LOL! And please don't remind us of that jacket that he also wore to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. What's important is that at least it was cleaned (well from what I can tell!). ;D ;D ;D BTW, I didn't see Paul's cousin at the podium. What color was his short set?

Otis was up there...He did get his money's worth outta that jacket. Ali was trying to give a tribute. Otis was too busy trying to harmonize, and Dennis lol! Dennis wasn't letting them mofo's pretend to be David's friends. Dennis was singing from his broken heart. Poor Eddie didn't even try. lol!lol! CP it was a big show.

That explaines my next question.. I did not see Eddie with those wannabe friends.. I heard everybody came out to his funeral to say goodbye even BG.
Question: If BG came to the funeral, why he could not patch up his differences before David left this world?
I am pretty David would have found his words very comforting.. just a thought.

No darlin BG nor Miss Ross attended the funeral. I didn't go but my ex did. I heard Eddie was just too broke up.

Speaking of a show at the funeral CP! Rev. Farrakhan put on quite a show himself. I wish I had a copy of that sermon. A lot of people left there that day HEATED But the brother told the truth. Then there was one of David's women{amongst many} in particular that MADE herself stand out. I will have to tell yall bout that. I will say that her display wasn't neccessary nor appreciated. Not my words, some of the family members.
