I can't wait to watch and see how his story goes I'm super excited for this ;D www.soultracks.com/unsung-6th-seasonDecember 17, 2012) Great news for SoulTrackers and other lovers of the greatest show on television, TV One's "Unsung." TV One gave more information today on the sixth season of the show that will begin on January 21, 2013. It promises to be another great season. This time around, artists who will be Unsung'ed will include Eddie Kendricks, The Whispers, EPMD, Lou Rawls, Midnight Star, Johnny Gill and Isaac Hayes. In addition, TV One just announced that there will be an Unsung two hour special on Disco, telling the definitive tale of an American phenomenon, featuring two dozen musical performances and commentary by legendary Disco survivors Gloria Gaynor, Nile Rodgers, Thelma Houston, The Village People, KC of the Sunshine Band. As always the shows will be narrated by actor Gary Anthony Williams. As TV One explains it, "Unsung focuses on profiling gifted musical talents who have played an important role in recent music history, but have not necessarily become household names. The featured artists have contributed significantly to popular culture and have compelling life stories, the details of which have largely remained untold." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. And we can't wait for January 21!

This is from Unsung website. Not Otis AGAIN! Those Unsung producers are just getting lazy....or else they are working on a tight budget, or both.....there are obviously a lot of other people they could interview to give a more interesting perspective.
"Co-founder and lead singer of The Temptations. Eddie Kendricks’ sweet falsetto helped define that legendary group’s distinctive sound. His was the lead on such hits as The Way You Do The Things You Do, Get Ready, and Just My Imagination. But despite that group’s stunning success, restlessness and resentment led to Kendricks’ departure for a solo career.
On his own, he recorded a raft of R&B hits punctuated by the number one releases Keep On Truckin and Boogie Down, while his easy-going personality made him a favorite with fans and fellow stars. But behind the scenes, Eddie Kendricks was often a loner, who rarely let friends and family members witness his personal struggles, even to the end as he fought the lung cancer that would claim his life.
Now, those closest to Eddie, including his children, and fellow Motown legends Mary Wilson, Otis Williams and Martha Reeves, come together on Unsung to craft a portrait of the greatest singer few really knew. "

I'm happy he's getting his story told but at the same time I'm thinking..wasn't eddie extremely private?! so what could they tell that the public didn't know maybe his kids could give insight and I hope they do because Otis is not the historian on everybody's life at motown lol they using otis like he's the neighborhood gossip..benita betrell lol

yes...it makes me think that when they decided to interview Otis, they just asked him questions about everybody they were planning to do an episode on, all in one day.. they just changed his clothes, and the set colors/lighting a little bit to make it seem different...it's called cost-saving...but it's still lazy because they (I'm speaking mainly of Unsung producers) need to do more research about the BEST possible interviewees...their episodes all seem to have a formula and focus on the same things about each act.

That's exactly how O comes across... a damn gossip monger. I don't think he knew anymore about Eddie than he did David. And the stuff he said about David on Unsung was questionable. And why are they featuring Mary Wilson? Didn't Eddie spend most of his time running away from her? LOL. I agree about Eddie being extremely private but can't have it both ways. Cant' want recognition and then want to be be 'private'. That's kinda hard to do when one is a celebrity. This should be an interesting episode. I wonder if Eddie's mother will be featured as well.

Brandy, did they show Eddie's daughter in the preview clips of the show? I recall seeing a pic of Eddie's son online but I'm not sure about the daughter. It should be interesting.

Common,
The first episode featured Issac Hayes. Tonight at 10:00 eastern, Midnight Star would tell the viewers why the group is "Unsung".
